We heard great things about Santa Barbara and were looking forward to arriving. We met a lovely family in Folsom, California. The children's grandfather, Darryl, lived in Santa Barbara. We exchanged phone numbers and gave Darryl a ring a couple days before we thought we would arrive in Santa Barbara. He offered a place to stay for the evening. Before heading to Darryl's we explored the beach and the pier. When we arrived at his home, we were blessed with great company, a room, bathroom, a massage chair, and wonderful food. :)
We went to dinner with Darryl's family at a restaurant (I wish I remembered the name) Where we had an excellent vegetarian dinner. Went to sleep when we got home. We slept in a little and had breakfast with Darryl that he cooked. His sons favorite, eggs with pepper jack cheese, along with porridge. Before heading Darryl heading out for tennis for the evening we watch Top Gun. His tennis partner came and they headed off. Then we got ready to go and headed out ourselves.
We left his home late morning. It was tempting to take a day off and stay with him longer as we really enjoyed our time and he made us feel right at home. We did not leave Santa Barbara until later in the afternoon and we hung out at Barnes and Nobles so I could get some 'work' done. Good News: I have officially applied for my Initial NY State Teaching Certification:) No more Transitional B Certificate!
