Caution,So Cal is having a huge stingray explosion. If you wade in the water, be sure to shuffle your feet!
I share this because I was spending the most beautiful late October afternoon SWIMMING IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN. That never happens this late in the year. I had 2 rather 3 teenagers with autism with me. My daughter was running along the shore and the 2 boys were swimming in the waves with me. I went to walk to the shore to talk to my daughter and BAM! Stingray to the ankle. It was surreal trying to get kids out of water and pack up stuff while feeling like my leg was on fire and like I could pass out at any minute. So glad that I had some friends around to help out. I've been in the ocean my whole life...45 years....scuba dive and everything...and NEVER had this happen. UGH. Trust me, the pain is unbearable...just ask the Urgent care about the scene I made. Anyhow, I pray your days are much more fun and that you enjoy the ocean as much as I did, well...until the sting! Would love to meet you when in So Cal. Please call. Linda Molyneux
Just found your new blog, thanks to Joanne. Did you know that the Rockies [sp??] have just had a record snowfall? You made it just in time. Apparently all the mountains you have recently passed are now impassable because of snow. You sound pretty beat - hope you recuperate in the warm weather and flat roads. Congratulations once again on having made it across the country. Not bad, not bad at all - and you are still on talking terms. Gus

Congratulations Katie & Rocky!!!! We can't wait to hear your stories. What a cool way to raise awareness about autism.
